Fringe - Whether its '20s flappers, 70s boho, either way, it's absolutely fashion chic… (when done in small doses) I am a huge fan of fringe, recently I purchased a black suede fringed coat from Topshop to deal with the nippy evenings of spring rapidly approaching us. (That’s if you live in the UK that is). Fringe has been finding its way on most garments over the years, dangling from hems of coats and dresses, to embellishing evening wear, jewellery and shoes, even swimwear has had its fair share of fringe over the seasons too. Balenciaga, Alexander Mc Queen, Ralph Lauren and Roberto Cavalli are just some of the designers featuring fringing on their spring/summer catwalks.
This super trend has captured the wild imagination of the creative high street who have pulled out all the stops in creating a fabulous selection of fringe pieces to keep you swishing around for the next 6 months, unless you get tangled around the door handle that is… (Alert- this can be quite frustrating!)
Item of the day
This Taupe Fringed Tunic from Miss Selfridge has made my miserable start to the week a lot brighter! Perfect for a breazy Spring day! Team with black capris, and a satchel for a cool chic look or team over maxi dress for a instant boho feel.
Roberto Cavalli brought the feathers and fringe trend to our attention for Spring/summer 2011-
