50's Fashion makes a come back!

Fashion in the fifties brought glamour to austerity Britain. Women adopted the New Look of Christian Dior. In the mid fifties, Chanel's simple suit provided an alternative and created a much copied fashion that lasted well into the sixties. When Rock'n'roll came along, young girls stopped looking like their mothers and adopted a more youthful look.

The '50s look will be a key trend for shapes and patterns for Autumn/ Winter 2010, So out come the Floral and check, think Cath Kidson and Laura Ashley style prints. Gingham which will take you through to Spring Summer and Camel which we can already see flooding the high streets which crosses over to the 1970s trend, We will also see a lot of Midi length pencil skirts which are all over the high street at the moment.

To add to effect 50's will carry through to hair and makeup, 50's glamour lips, liquid eyeliner which hair with waves and structure. High buns are also a great look which is a current hair style of the moment.

Today, the look is supremely appealing because it's can be classic and modern, lady-like and masculine and risque and modest all at once! The fifties were all about being "lady-like", which happened to enhance femininity with fashion. So naturally, everything from the fifties highlighted a woman's curves and form. The fifties were the go-to source of inspiration for designers this year, embracing swing dresses and curves!

Check out this gorgeous Lipsy Mini Dress i found on Asos.com, I am loving the 50's floral touch! Check out the mini elegant box bags that are currently all over the high street to finish off your 50's outfit... I have found loads of 50s box bags on eBay, if you want a more vintage feel!

My Love for Siwy!

I thought i would create post showing my love for my favourite jean designer Siwy, Launched back in Spring 2005 in downtown Newyork, Siwy provides the ultimate Denim collection, from Vintage inspired, to full of Red Glam Sequins, Siwy has it all. The brand has developed a cult following from celeb icons including Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Mischa Barton and many many more...

Not only are these jeans beautiful... And i mean beautiful... the stitch detail on the back pockets...Ahhh Gorgeous, but they are practical. Teamed with sandals for a summer stroll, or your new favourite black wedge boots for a sexy feel...Siwy does it all.

Siwy creates a figure flattering fit, with incredible comfort, all seams follow a women's natural curve, all lines accommodate the body and its characteristics when moving sitting and standing, So much effort and talent is put into creating the jeans, they move towards being a piece of Art rather than a wardrobe essential.

Siwy produces four collections per year, each forging ahead with fashion trend and fit. So get yourself to your nearest Siwy retailer and get trying them on...

Siwy can be found on www.asos.com, www.bunnyhug.co.uk,Harvey Nichols, Urban Outfitters plus many more. Check out the Gorgeous Michelle Siwy and her amazing jeans at www.siwydenim.com

Heres a couple of pairs i have my eye on from Harvey Nichols...

With Love L xx

Diana Vickers wardrobe error...

I am not too sure what has happened here, normally Diana gets it so right.. I love the colour, and i love the patten, I just have a problem with the length... If this was ten inches longer it would be perfect.

I don't know whether this was a "Just got out of the car" moment and Diana was about to pull it down, but judging from the background and smile, I'm not convinced...

Though 10 points for the shoes the dress gets a mere 2...

I may have to source some more pictures for examination...

What are your thoughts?..

Q Awards Style update...

It seems everyone has jumped aboard the Sultry black bandwagon... LOVE IT. Guys what are your thoughts on some of the celebrities i've found on the Daily Mail website who flooded the red carpet at the awards last night at the Grosvenor Hotel in London...

I love the fact that Corrine Bailey Rae threw the card out of the window and instead went for a bright yellow number! Not sure about the tights... Maybe a pair of black high boots would have looked nicer...

Thoughts?...

Dress of the day

Today's dress of the day goes to Whistles! Featuring a scoop neckline, sheer lace inserts to the sleeve with raw edges, in this gorgeous lime green! Ahhh Beautiful... This could be teamed with a pair of black wedge boots or a pair of dainty Mary Jane's, thick tights for the winter or bare legs for the summer... Yup, i think i have justified the £295 price tag!

Dress by Whistles as seen on ASOS.COM.

A/W Red Lips

The A/W catwalks were full of Deep, Delicious Red Lips, This season it's all about the Red, Taking a formal shade and wearing it in an informal way. Perfect with your fav military green jacket, or your black leathers...

Team your red lips, with subtle eyes and nude skin for the most desirable look, so get your self to your nearest makeup counter and check out the shades, Are you a Red Orange, or a Blue Red... There are endless colours of Red... Go choose yours, and stand out from the crowds!..

P.S My favourite is Ruby Woo but Mac... Give it a go...

Check out some celebs sporting the Red Lips this season...

This Winter's Favourite...

Centre-parted waves are this winters must have hair do, not only is it just a quick brush either side, making the most easiest to maintain through out the day, it also looks fab.

The celebrity hair style of the moment has been seen on Leighton Meester, Rachel Bilson, Jessica Biel and many more!... I love this hair style...

To create these curls start curling from midway down the hair, and spray with some hair spray to keep it in place, use your fingers to define the curls.

Just scrunch ends after towel drying, add in some curl serum to prevent frizz and let them dry naturally for that sun kissed look.

Lady Gaga Visits the River Thames

Check out Lady Gaga as she strolls along the River Thames during an interview with American TV host Anderson Cooper. Gaga spoke about her fame and music and constant attention from the public... Quotation's from the interview, "My album is my Opus of universal identity, my fans have shared their deepest stories, their deepest wishes... their deepest secrets with me. I feel this album embraces their liberation and their future."."Even though all these people are here. It's really nice to stand by the water.

Gaga sports these enormously high black boots and lace attire for her stroll...Normal? I think so...i would be rather surprised if i see her in a Puffer Jacket, boots and jeans to be fair...

What are your thoughts?

Katy Perry for OPI

Katy Perry is teaming up with OPI to create a line of nail polishes inspired by her creative style.

Katy being a nail fanatic, as seen from her amazing nail designs on tour and her daring outfits she is spotted wearing in public. It only makes sense Katy has collaborated with major Nail Polish line OPI, and rightly so... I'm sold.

The Katy Perry collection that will be in stores in January 2011, will include colours such as Teenage Dream- A pink Glitter, Not like the Movies- A sultry Silver, plus many more.

But the one that grabs my attention is the Black Shatter- A topcoat that when applied over dried nail polish it creates a leopard cracked pattern! Amazing....

Keep posted...

The Katy Perry Wedding....

I am eagerly awaiting the wedding photos to be released of Katy Perry and Russell Brand, Here are a few snaps i have sourced...

The question is.... what will her dress look like, will Katy be wearing the Elie Saab Parisian Atelier dress she was spotted having fitted... what will the guests be wearing...will Rhianna be there...who Knows?

Katy was spotted leaving for India this week in which looked like a traditional nath, rumour has it the piece was actually a pair of A-Morir D'Arcy sunglasses, which feature a faux nose chain that’s actually attached to the frames. How cool!...

Now we wait....
