The big day is here... and the dress...

Well the day is here, after months and months of tabloid gossip, dramas and speculations the biggest day of the year comes upon us within the next couple of hours...

So the dress...?

A photograph was released this morning which looked like Sarah Burton arriving at the Goring Hotel in London heavily guarded with security.

Is this Sarah Burton?....  Burton's seemingly signature accessories - the silver belt, flat pumps and cropped style of jeans may have been a give away... No?

Kate is thought to have picked the designer after being taken back by a modern silk strapless gown made for the  wedding of Sara Buys to Prince William’s step-brother, Tom Parker Bowles back in 2005

Mcqueen A/W 11

One of the original fashion superstars though now a supernova Alexander McQueen's suicide sent shock waves through the industry last February however his brand lives on in the trusty hands of Sarah Burton.
I am hopeful that Sarah has designed the dress, this will be a beautiful romantic dress that still gives the effect of royal chic that Kate will be renowned for. It will be amazing to see the future Princess Catherine Middleton walking down Westminster Abbey in this soon to be iconic British piece of history.
Whatever will be, and I for one will be cheering on the Prince and Princess, on this glorious day!

Enjoy xx

Summer Summer Stripes

Hey Guys,

I haven't done a post regarding "Trend" in a while so I thought it was time to talk about Stripes. Most people have some sort of striped garment in their wardrobe; from a silk scarf, a knitted jumper or even a little vertical bold stripe dress lingering in their wardrobes somewhere. Yet again stripes are back!

Originally being seen on the fashion weeks from Prada to Marc Jacobs and Jil Sander, bursting with a selection of stripes from bold to skinny, contrasting black and white and those "brights" that are still very much still on trend. Stripes have filtered it's way back to the high street too, mixing with colour block and creating a burst of visual perspective on a more practical pocket happy budget.
My thought for the day, Stripe it up, invest in some vertical/horizontal colours, play around with items in your wardrobe (no doubt you have some stripes somewhere) experiment with colour block, (who would have guessed a blue and white striped tee shirt goes with an illuminous bright body con skirt?- it actually did)

Have fun, and remember to be an individual, however conventionall stripes may be- there is always something that keeps the trend coming back.

Style inspiration - Princess Grace Wedding Dress

As the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton approaches, I felt the need to express my all-time favourite wedding gown worn by the most beautiful women of all time (in my eyes) Princess Grace Kelly, I am a huge fan of Princess Grace, over the years I have adored Grace’s elegance and beauty in photographs online and in books. On Grace’s wedding to the Prince of Monaco in 1956 she looked for me the most spectacular bride I have ever seen (apart from my mum on her wedding day of course.)

I have often told people that when I eventually get married- when exactly I have no idea…? I want my “look” to be based on Princess Graces, not so much in taking the look and stealing it, but creating a dress that doesn’t swamp my frame by being to bold and “ In your face” the dress has to have a delicate beauty, charm and elegance that subtly overshadows all glitz and glam. Graces dress was designed by MGM’s costume designer Helen Rose created by using twenty –five yards of silk taffeta, and one hundred yards of silk net, rose point lace was used from a museum and tiny pearls were hand sewn into her veil.

Graces Wedding gown was the most expensive design that Helen Rose ever created, the dress was designed by MGM’s costume designer Helen Rose created by using twenty –five yards of silk taffeta, and one hundred yards of silk net, rose point lace was used from a museum and tiny pearls were hand sewn into her veil. She felt Graces dress should be “…Simple but elegant, feminine, ladylike but not necessarily regal, It should not over power Graces beauty…” These words could not be more accurate to the dress produced. The goal was exceeded expectations and Grace headed top of the style lists then, now and forever more.

Here are some of my favourite wedding dresses of all time, feel free to advice on your favourites, as I would love to know!

Audrey Hepburn married actor Mel Ferrer in September 1954, She wore a typically full-skirted Fifties ballerina-length style by Pierre Balmain with roses in her hair.

Sophia Bush wore a strapless Vera Wang gown with a fitted bodice and ballgown skirt

Giorgio Armani created a fitted off-the-shoulder gown for Katie The dress was made of Valenciennes lace and had Swarovski beaded crystal embroidery.

Elizabeth Taylor wore she wore a stunning white satin creation by famed MGM studio designer Helen Rose.

I cannot wait for the wedding of William and Kate on Friday 29th April!

Celebrity outfits from Coachella Festival 2011

Once again its the time of year for the coolest festival, Coachella to shines its very "cool" yet still so utterly beautiful self once again! (Oh how jealous am i?)

I love looking at the outfits of the creations people have put together, the public photos are amazing, Check out the websites to see the best dressed of the festival! -Gorgeous! The celebrities that attended Dita, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Green, Kate Bosworth and many many more all loved devine, the creativity is really portrayed in the clothes that the celebrities put together, and it makes me hope that this is a true show of their own fashion taste rather than the stylists. I have picked a few of my favourite looks from this years festival in Los Angeles, Check out Dita Von Teese and her cute dress and espadrille's! Love This!
