50's Fashion makes a come back!

Fashion in the fifties brought glamour to austerity Britain. Women adopted the New Look of Christian Dior. In the mid fifties, Chanel's simple suit provided an alternative and created a much copied fashion that lasted well into the sixties. When Rock'n'roll came along, young girls stopped looking like their mothers and adopted a more youthful look.

The '50s look will be a key trend for shapes and patterns for Autumn/ Winter 2010, So out come the Floral and check, think Cath Kidson and Laura Ashley style prints. Gingham which will take you through to Spring Summer and Camel which we can already see flooding the high streets which crosses over to the 1970s trend, We will also see a lot of Midi length pencil skirts which are all over the high street at the moment.

To add to effect 50's will carry through to hair and makeup, 50's glamour lips, liquid eyeliner which hair with waves and structure. High buns are also a great look which is a current hair style of the moment.

Today, the look is supremely appealing because it's can be classic and modern, lady-like and masculine and risque and modest all at once! The fifties were all about being "lady-like", which happened to enhance femininity with fashion. So naturally, everything from the fifties highlighted a woman's curves and form. The fifties were the go-to source of inspiration for designers this year, embracing swing dresses and curves!
